With the start of the NLC Division 1 Summer Split on the horizons and our esports club rebuild in full swing, we’re happy to announce Nicolai “Demb” Kruuse will be returning to lead the team.
A familiar face
Demb was there alongside our Founder Kurt Pittman, for the inception of Nativz. His coaching efforts secured us a first place in TES Denmark 2021 Group Stage, 3rd place in playoffs and then top seeding at the Winter Showdown DK. These successes culminated in obtaining us a spot in the NLC 2nd Division.
NLC Triumph
The Danish coach then signed another year contract with us in which he would continue leading the team into the 2022 NLC 2nd Division. This was uncharted territory for us as club, however Demb thrived under pressure. In 2021 Demb’s coaching efforts saw us claim back-to-back NLC 2nd Division titles and promotion into the 2023 NLC 1st Division.
What’s to come?
Since parting ways with Nativz at the back end of 2022, Demb has spent time at Riddle Esports and most recently with Jlingz Esports in the 2023 Aurora Cup. Demb spoke on his return to Nativz saying “Even during my time away from Nativz, I still found myself thinking of the organization as my own, and were supportive of them the same. My return in many ways feels like being back home, and I am excited to start where I left of and bring more success to the club.”.
Nativz Founder & CEO Kurt Pittman spoke on the appointment of Demb saying, “We’re delighted to be able to bring back a familiar face who has proved to be an invaluable asset to the organisation in the past. It’s no secret we did not achieve the results we had wanted in Spring but with Demb’s technical expertise and alignment with our recent rebuild we’re confident we will compete with the best of them in the Summer Split.”.
