The Red Bull Campus Clutch is a staple in the Irish Valorant scene, in which teams built from Irish esports talent currently in study compete to prove themselves as the best team on the island. But it doesn't stop there; the team emerging victorious earns themselves a trip to Brazil to play on a worldwide stage against the very best of 50,000 students from across the globe!
Our Red Bull Campus Clutch Ireland campaign spanned two days, starting on October 29th as we entered the double elimination format bracket with our eyes on the prize. After some swift wins over the likes of MTU, NCI Panthers, and more, we found ourselves crowned the upper bracket winners and headed towards the national finals.
A fortnight passed and the finals day was upon us. We geared up for a best-of-3 series against “HMM”, a team we had bested during our upper bracket run but who had secured a spot through some phenomenal lower bracket victories. With a clean 13-4 victory on Icebox, we headed into game 2 with confidence, and after seeing some nasty Viper lineups from DOOBS and a disgusting 1v4 clutch from Tymek we claimed our plane tickets to Brazil.
Our grand finals run kicks off tomorrow, December 13th, as we begin group stages aiming to place top 2 and claim our spot in the knockout bracket. While groups are yet to be announced, we know that Pad and players will put up a great fight against whoever we face.
Our Co-Founder & Chairman, Kurt Pittman, spoke on the triumph saying, “This is a huge milestone for us, both in our mission of developing Irish esports talent and our Nativz Valorant team pushing for higher honours.”
